Where IKU is the better choice

As at 6 October 2026, IKU is ahead on several things, and if one of them is what you need, it is the better pick.

Track record. Its about page says: "In 1985, we started our plant-based eatery from a tiny shop in Glebe".
Coverage. IKU delivers to the ACT and SA as well as NSW, VIC and QLD. We deliver to Sydney, North Western Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane Metro only.
Published delivery days and storage times. IKU's delivery areas page lists its delivery days by region — Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in Sydney Metro and the ACT, for example — and each product page gives a storage time in days (9 days for the Scrambled Tofu, Smoky Tempeh All-day Breakfast). We do not publish either on our site.
NDIS. Its NDIS page says IKU is "an NDIS approved meal provider" and that approved participants receive a 70% rebate on IKU meals.

Where Vegan Soul is different

A cuisine, not a category. Our menu is a Lebanese range — shawarma, falafel, fried or baked, a 500g tub of toum, loubieh — and an Asian range of satay, teriyaki, red Thai, ramen and soba.

Protein, meal by meal. Eleven of our 35 dishes carry 28g of plant protein or more — the Peri Peri Chick'n & Spanish Rice is 43.7g, the Peanut Satay Chick'n & Rice 39g, the Famous Bondi Beach Chick'n Shawarma 30g. The full list is on the high-protein page.

A price on every dish. $4.95 for the cold-pressed juices, $9.95 for the falafel packs and most sides, and $11.95 or $12.95 for most mains, with a $79 minimum order. Delivery is calculated at checkout for your postcode.

What stays the same

Both menus are fully plant-based, both deliver ready-made meals chilled, and both take one-off orders as well as recurring ones. The question is whether you want a long-established kitchen that reaches five states and territories, or a Lebanese and Asian kitchen in four areas.
